What does purchasing it before the Hag accomplish? If it has to do with it being batel before the Hag and therefore not subject to the issue of Hozer Vi'Neior, then as long as it was produced (thereby creating the taarovet) before the Hag shouldn't it be fine permissable if it was bought either before or during the Hag?

Rabbi Abadi is judging based on the ingredient list provided by the questioner. As you can see, the person who listed the ingredients in his question included "wheat flour".Somebody should let R' Abadi know that the person who reported the ingredients for Reese's Puffs made a mistake. There is NO wheat flour in Reese's Puffs. If there was wheat flour in the recipe at some point in the past, it has since been changed and there isn't anymore. In fact, the package says "may contain wheat ingredients" at the bottom, which is legal speak for "it is prepared on the same equipment as cereals with wheat in them and therefore may have trace amounts of wheat and we don't want to be sued by someone allergic to wheat so we are giving this disclaimer". I will send this to R' Abadi.
